My main phillosophy with my railway photography is mostly to show a train in a particular location rather than a particular train. Occasionally I will go out to spefically shoot a certain train or type of train, but generally it's whatever turns up. This goes some way to explain the abundance of X'Trapolis in my pics, although to the disgust of many I actually quite like them.

On 1 July 2005 I travelled on the "Spirit of Progress" train to Seymour. The consist of the train was R761-BK700-BS2-BRS9-BS206-BZ269-PCP292. See: http://bensadv.blogspot.com/2005/07/spirit-of-progress.html for a trip report.

Taken sometime in October 2003. Basically showing the features of the sidings around Westall station. All I remember was that it was one of those freezing cold October days that we get in Melbourne with a strong south westerly wind. This gave the area a desolate post apocolyptic feel. There's nothing like a deserted post industrial rust belt for making one feel truly alone. You had to be there really...
